Summer Wind Conducting Online Workshop

Join Maestri Scatterday and Hunsberger (and special guest Erik Behr) for the Wind Conducting Online Workshop! Two 90-minute interactive sessions per day will be presented through Zoom. This workshop discusses topics such as:

Score study
Preparing the score for your first rehearsal and performance
Rehearsal technique
Performance techniques
Marketing and promotion
Audience development
Outreach and community involvement
The player/conductor relationship
What players need from a conductor

Repertoire will include:
Beethoven: Octet, Op. 103
Mozart: Serenade in Eb, No. 11, K. 375
Lauridson: O Magnum Mysterium
Holst: Suite No. 1 in Eb

Enrollment limited to 10 conductors. Conductor participants will receive individual instruction through private lessons and masterclasses.

No audition is required to attend as an auditor; anyone can audit this institute.

  • A current copy of your music résumé
  • Video recordings: YouTube links (public or unlisted videos only) – two performances of your choice, or one performance and one rehearsal. Please send video links together in one Word document as shown in this template (do not forward individual videos to the Summer@Eastman office). Links should be “active” so that videos can be viewed directly from your document; you may wish to test this before submitting your audition.
