In accordance with the University’s COVID-19 restrictions, this course will be taught entirely online. The course meeting time may need to be changed to accommodate students in different time zones. The instructor will contact students before the start of Summer Session to determine a meeting time that will work for everyone.

This course enables students to develop an understanding of the structure, governance, operations, and historical development of musical organizations in the non-profit sector (orchestras, opera companies, schools of music, and emerging models of contemporary innovative ensembles). By exploring effective leadership practices of the musical organizations, students will work to develop effective administration, governance, leadership, and communication skills.
