Charges for Summer term will post to student accounts in May 2024. Billing statements will be sent automatically from the UR Bursar’s Office at that time. No payment is due until you receive a billing statement.
Notices will be emailed to the address you provided on your registration form; notices for students under age 18 will be sent to the parent/guardian email address. Late fees will be added to your balance if payment is not received by the due date.
Several payment methods are accepted (see payment instructions, below):
Payment by eCheck or payment card
Payments by eCheck (ACH drawn on a checking or savings account at a U.S.-based bank) or payment card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) may only be made through UR Student, the University of Rochester’s student account system:

Prior to paying by eCheck for the first time you must complete payment elections in UR Student. Click here for a quick reference guide to help complete the payment elections process. After completing the final payment elections step you will be able to pay in UR Student using an eCheck. You will not need to complete the payment elections process again unless your banking information changes.
Payments by payment card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) do not require the payment elections process. Please sign into UR Student and follow the steps on this Quick Reference Card. Please note there is an additional non-refundable service charge for all payment card payments made through UR Student. The exact service charge amount will be displayed on screen prior to completing the payment. If payment is not submitted / completed, then the service charge will not be assessed, and payment will not be applied to the student account. If payment is submitted / completed, then the service charge will be assessed and cannot be refunded for any reason.

Payment by a school administrator, scholarship organization, or other third party
We accept payments from third parties (school administrators, scholarship organizations, or other benefactors from outside students’ families) and will assist with processing to be sure payments are properly applied to your account.
