Residence Halls
Please note that the residence hall does not have air conditioning. The summer weather in Rochester is typically 70s/80s during the day and 50s/60s at night, so please plan accordingly.
In Your Room

Necessary Items to Bring
You are responsible for any valuable items you bring to campus, including your instrument(s).

Roommates
At least half of the Eastman Summer students share a room with another student, although, most students will be assigned their own room. Students are matched with their roommate(s) based on gender. We try to pair students from different programs, states, or countries to give students a diverse experience.
Students will receive room and roommate assignments when they arrive on campus to check in for their program.
Amenities and Costs
The residential program fee does include:
- Linens (fitted sheet, flat sheet, pillowcases)
- 2 towels and a washcloth
- Meals eaten on campus (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
An additional health fee will be applied to your housing and dining cost. The health fee is TBA.
Additional fees may apply for special events and off-campus excursions.
Students may bring additional spending money, for items not included in program fees, such as snacks, restaurants, and souvenirs.
Living Off Campus
Rochester downtown area hotels – Eastman discounts are available at many local hotels. Browse our hotel list for rate details and booking information.
Airbnb rentals can be found in several neighborhoods near Eastman and around Rochester. If you will not have access to a car during your stay, search for walkable options in the Neighborhood of the Arts (NOTA), East End, or Park Avenue neighborhoods; these are closest to Eastman (the school is located at 26 Gibbs Street, 14604). Please note that we are unable to monitor or review Airbnb locations; use good judgment when booking.
