Residence Halls
All in-person program move-ins are on Sunday, 11 AM – 2 PM.
Please note that the residence hall does not have air conditioning. The summer weather in Rochester is typically 80s/90s during the day and 50s/60s at night, so please plan accordingly.
In Your Room
- Bed frame and mattress

Necessary Items to Bring
You are responsible for any valuable items you bring to campus, including your instrument(s).

- Rain gear/umbrella
- Outlet adapter
Roommates
Most students will be assigned a single room. Please reach out to the Eastman Summer Program Manager if you would like to request a room with a roommate or someone specific.
Amenities and Costs
The residential program fee does include:
- Linens (2 flat sheets, pillowcases)
- Towel and a washcloth
- Meals eaten on campus (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
An additional health fee will be applied to your housing and dining cost. The health fee is TBA.
Additional fees may apply for special events and off-campus excursions.
Students may bring additional spending money, for items not included in program fees, such as snacks, restaurants, and souvenirs.
Living Off Campus
Rochester downtown area hotels – Eastman discounts are available at many local hotels. Browse our hotel list for rate details and booking information.
Airbnb rentals can be found in several neighborhoods near Eastman and around Rochester. If you will not have access to a car during your stay, search for walkable options in the Neighborhood of the Arts (NOTA), East End, or Park Avenue neighborhoods; these are closest to Eastman (the school is located at 26 Gibbs Street, 14604). Please note that we are unable to monitor or review Airbnb locations; use good judgment when booking.
The University of Rochester’s Office of Residential Life maintains a searchable listings database for students looking for off-campus housing opportunities (rentals, sublets, shared housing).
