Guitar Intensive Workshop
July 18-20, 2025, Friday-Sunday / 9a.m.-4p.m.
Ages: entering grades 6-9
Lynn McGrath, instructor
In this workshop for guitarists of all levels (entering grades 6-9), participants will explore making music on the acoustic guitar as both soloists and ensemble members. Students will develop new skills and a deeper understanding of music through an exploration of multiple styles of guitar music (classical, blues, rock, and more). Other fun topics will include a class song writing project, learning about guitar construction, and more. The weekend event will conclude with a recital featuring ensembles as well as selected soloists. Students taking part will need to complete a survey form to assess level for placement, must provide their own classical acoustic instrument (in working condition) and footstool, and be ready to rock!
