Open to all area players of orchestral instruments – music educators strongly encouraged! “Beethoven’s and Schubert’s Vienna.” This summer we will read through symphonies and other orchestral works heard in Vienna from the time of the Eroica through the death of Schubert. Music by Beethoven, Schubert, Spohr, Wrantizky, and perhaps some other lesser known but talented composers. Attendance at all sessions is NOT required, but if you register please try to make as many sessions as possible, so we have adequate instrumentation. Instrumentation needs for each week will appear in the schedule and list of repertoire, and will generally include strings, flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, horns, trumpets, and timpani, and occasionally trombones. Contact director: firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Concert: There will be no concert, allowing the orchestra to read more repertory.
Tuition: Free, but participants must register online at: http://www.esm.rochester.edu/community/registration-free/
