Room: EEW 415
Michael Ruhling, director
Open to all area players of orchestral instruments – music educators strongly encouraged! “The Classical Style: Haydn, Mozart, and their pals.” This summer we will read through well-known and less-known symphonies and other orchestral works by Haydn, Mozart, and their contemporaries, with tips and exploration of stylistic performance techniques. Attendance at all sessions is NOT required, but if you register please try to make as many sessions as possible, so we have adequate instrumentation. Instrumentation needs for each week will appear in the schedule and list of repertoire, and will generally include strings, oboes, bassoons, horns, trumpets, and timpani, and occasionally flutes and clarinets. Contact director: mruhling@esm.rochester.edu with any questions.
Concert: There will be no concert, allowing the orchestra to read more repertory.
Tuition: Free, but participants must register online at: http://www.esm.rochester.edu/community/registration-free/
CRN: 18605
